The older people in the area remember how, from the 60s onwards, people used to install canopies and family tents and spend the day next to the chiringuito (beach bar) which offered grilled sardines and mackerel. The name “Caminito Santana” (Santana’s little path) comes from Juan Santana, the foreman of the estate which people had to go through to get to the beach.
Approximately 500 metres long with an average width of 120 metres, the beach has a raised promenade along part of its length.
This has been constructed to prevent the deterioration of the high dunes which are contained by the pines and vegetation.
